When was the last time someone asked you, How are YOU doing? What went well for YOU this week? Has anyone ever said to YOU It's your time, I'm listening? My approach I use psychodynamic therapy to help my clients to better understand their individual feelings and why their behavior may be affecting their functioning. This approach can help my clients to increase their confidence and improve their interpersonal skills, which can help their relationships. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is useful to help my clients change maladaptive behaviors and thinking. The benefit of this approach is that it gives a productive way to deal with real-world problems that they encounter. CBT is a therapy that works well with or without medication. My focus My main passion is to help everyone become the best version of themselves. I work with clients to enable them to begin the challenging work of self-discovery, growth potential, and change through my clinical skills in my therapeutic approach. I provide individual, couples, and group therapy to adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger management, loss/grief, relationships, pregnancy/parenting, and life transitions. My communication style My communication style is to foster a strong therapeutic alliance and guide clients through their challenges. This includes active listening, empathy, and open-ended questions, all aimed at creating a safe space for clients to express themselves and work towards their goals. My journey to mental healthcare This is a second career for me. As such, I saw a need that needed to be fulfilled with people's mental health struggles. I actually have a master's in business and was employed at a community college prior. I enjoy this work, and I love seeing my clients win whatever that looks like to them.
