I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2016 when I graduated with my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I utilize several approaches to meet the needs of clients. I approach sessions in a solution focused, strengths based manner. My approach Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a client centered approach that allows the client to think outside the box, identify changes, and implement these changes. Having worked with children and families, I have experience in a variety of modalities. At times a family needs to work through relationship issues, in which I am able to help create a safe space for families to heal. My focus I have had opportunities to work with underserved populations of all ages in Substance Abuse Treatment, before transitioning to work with youth and families in the community. I have worked with youth and families for over 5 years helping youth, parents and families in crisis, as well as helping parents learn to navigate the world of developmental diagnoses. I have been in private practice for over three years now where I continue to work with children and adults process various life struggles and challenges, to include relationship issues and grief work. My communication style I engage in a very relaxed atmosphere, so my clients can feel comfortable communicating struggles, desires needs and goals. I like to foster space of compassion and understanding through validation and empathy. My journey to mental healthcare I have always found joy in helping others. Combined with a fascination of human behavior, I studied Psychology and Clinical Mental Heath Counseling for 9 years in college because I enjoyed learning.
