Getting to know Audrey (Abigail) Newman

Starting therapy can be intimidating, and for many people, reaching out is the hardest part. I help people who are struggling with their emotions and who feel overwhelmed by their daily lives, work, and routines. I help people who are feeling dissatisfied with their relationships with their friends, partners, and family members. I also help people who want to deepen their understanding of and heal past experiences or traumatic events. My objective is to provide an honest, supportive space for you to process your emotions and to help you develop the skills and tools you need to overcome the challenges you are facing. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University, which equips me with the knowledge and training to support you effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide sessions through telehealth and use a trauma-informed, direct, and compassionate approach. This allows me to point out thoughts and behaviors that keep you from being the best version of yourself while processing the life experiences that contribute to these issues in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I use both mental interventions (including thought challenging, visualization, and talk therapy) and physical interventions (including mindfulness, breath work, and somatic movement) in my practice to holistically treat symptoms.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is a bit different from other sessions and is an evaluation session to gather your personal history, to describe the symptoms and experiences you are having, and to create goals for therapy. After the first session, our sessions will focus on establishing trust, further developing our working relationship, and working towards your self-identified goals for therapy.

Highly recommend! She was compassionate, non-judgmental, and very flexible with my schedule. Since working with her, I feel more capable and confident to achieve my goals and navigate life’s challenges.
Abby was very understanding and non-judgmental, I felt so comfortable talking to her. She was also really great at explaining insurance and what my deductible meant for the session costs... insurance can be so confusing but she helped make it super clear from the start.
I appreciate Abby’s professionalism and kindness. She listens without judgement and offers steps to take to move forward in life while acknowledging what I’ve gone through. I will be back!

I was kinda skeptical about trying therapy online, but honestly, it was just as great as meeting in person. Abby's incredible and understanding, and she really knows her stuff when it comes to therapy. She made me feel comfortable right from the start, and talking to her has been a game-changer for my mental well-being. I totally recommend Abby to anyone looking for a fantastic therapist from the comfort of your own home. It makes therapy seem less daunting.
I was very nervous to have my first session and wanted to cancel several times, but from the moment I first met her, I felt like I was chatting with an old friend rather than a clinical appointment. Her warm and welcoming demeanor instantly put me at ease, making it easy to open up and discuss my problems. She did our sessions in both English and spanish, which made me feel even more comfortable expressing my thoughts and emotions. She genuinely cares about her clients and is deeply committed to helping them on mental healththeir journey. One of the things I appreciate most about Abby is her non-judgmental and empathetic approach. She listens attentively, offers insightful perspectives, and provides practical strategies to address my challenges. She incredible at tailoring her therapy techniques to fit my specific needs, and I've seen significant improvements in my mental well-being thanks to her guidance. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate therapist!
Abby has been a blessing for my husband's mental health journey. Words can't express the gratitude I feel for the incredible support and guidance she's provided. As a young and newly married couple, we sought counseling for his individual growth and to strengthen our relationship. She has helped my spouse navigate their challenges with empathy and expertise. Abby's ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my spouse to open up has been remarkable, and I've witnessed a positive transformation in his well-being thanks to her care. If you're searching for a therapist who can make a difference, Abby is the one. She's changed my spouse's life and has had a positive ripple effect on our entire family.
I have had many therapists and Abby is by far the best I have seen. I am so grateful to have found her and have a therapist that is so caring. She has helped me immensely with my anxiety and depression as well as helped my self confidence. You can tell she cares so much about her clients and wants them to succeed. I cannot recommend Abby enough. After having many therapists and a few bad ones I was a little reserved at first but Abby is so easy to talk to and is just overall a delightful person. I am very lucky to have found her.
