Psychotherapist

Therapy is a journey to becoming more of your true self. If you're reading this, I'll take a guess that you grew up in a family where emotions were either rarely expressed or expressed intensely and chaotically-perhaps a mixture of these extremes. You may feel inclined to suppress certain emotions and desires, detach from them, bury them, or even judge yourself for having them at all. The reality is that everything we feel, however "negative" it may seem, is felt for a reason. If we don't take the time to identify, talk about, and understand what we're experiencing, we can get stuck and even become unwell. With a Master's degree in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco, my rich experiences as a therapist go into creating an environment that provides you with the space and support to fully be yourself. Together, we'll talk through what's going on for you, understand where it comes from, and work to free yourself from its wounds. This is an environment where you can begin to undo some of the patterns and traumas that get in the way of your fulfillment. The primary presenting issues I treat include depression, anxiety, relational challenges, life transitions, OCD, trauma, sexual issues, and grief. In addition to individual therapy, I also help couples improve communication and the quality of their relationships.
