Aven Comstock, LCSW

Psychotherapist
WI
I am a licensed clinical social worker who provides thoughtful, trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. My approach integrates mindfulness, CBT, motivational interviewing, EMDR, and humanistic and existential perspectives. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard while developing greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and practical tools for meaningful change. In our first session together, here's what you can expect Our first session will focus on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you hope to gain from the process. We will discuss your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, supports, and goals at a pace that feels comfortable. You will also have space to ask questions and determine whether my approach feels like a good fit. Together, we will begin developing a treatment plan that reflects your needs and priorities. The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions I bring warmth, patience, curiosity, and a grounded, nonjudgmental presence to each session. I listen carefully and create space for clients to explore difficult experiences without feeling rushed or judged. At the same time, I am willing to ask thoughtful questions, gently challenge unhelpful patterns, and offer practical tools when appropriate. My approach balances compassion with accountability and draws upon extensive experience with mindfulness, trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, and supporting people through complex life circumstances. The clients I'm best positioned to serve My ideal client may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or a significant life transition. They may feel stuck in recurring patterns, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to move forward.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider's self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
