Getting to know Bailey Amis

I integrate a psychodynamic, client-centered approach with a focus on discovering your strengths. I believe that by partnering with my clients to identify their goals, barriers, and patterns we can work together toward growth and a more fulfilled life. I work with clients from all backgrounds, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community, who are experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, low self esteem, and body image issues. I also work with clients who have experienced strict religious communities or religious trauma. As a queer person myself, I do my best to create a truly inclusive environment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that past experiences can impact current life challenges and identifying patterns of behavior can be helpful for growth. I integrate mind and body work, EMDR, and ERP therapy modalities. In addition to individual therapy, I also offer assessment and WPATH letter writing for gender affirming surgeries.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Reaching out can be scary and opening up can be tough, but we can take it one step at a time and go at a pace you're comfortable with to help you continue on your journey with more confidence, coping skills, and support.
