Hi! I’m Barbara. It’s nice to meet you! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, committed to helping people become the best versions of themselves. My work focuses on empowering clients by building upon their strengths to increase resilience, identifying maladaptive behavioral and relational patterns interfering with their lives, recognizing limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviors, and learning to manage emotions. I have over two decades of experience in mental and behavioral health, working with individuals, families, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in various inpatient and outpatient settings.
My approach to treatment is collaborative, individualized, and described as “outside the box,” meeting people where they are mentally and emotionally. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, pulled in several directions, struggling with family or relationship issues—such as blended family challenges, strong-willed children, or caring for children while also caring for aging parents. Perhaps you face sexual or gender identity challenges or have experienced trauma. You may want to process unhealed childhood wounds. Are you stressed or overextended juggling multiple roles? Do you struggle with substance abuse, codependency, PTSD, life transitions, or coping with loss? Or are you or a loved one learning to navigate mental health issues? I use creative and evidence-based practices to promote healing and wellness, including “walk and talk” therapy. If this approach feels right, I’m here to support your journey to wellness.
