Ms. Bari Lawner, LMSW, is a licensed master social worker specializing in adolescent, young adult, and adult client-centered psychotherapy. Ms. Lawner will be working under the supervision of Dr. Adam Barkey. She takes an integrative therapeutic approach tailored to the individual needs of her clients, utilizing a strengths-based perspective that highlights her clients’ self-determination and inner strengths. Ms. Lawner provides a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where clients have the opportunity to openly communicate on their journey of introspection and self-exploration.
She has experience treating anxiety, depression, and chemical dependency symptoms using evidence-based interventions and practices. Ms. Lawner has clinical experience working with various populations and has gained knowledge, insight, and cultural competency when working with these groups. She has co-facilitated a wellness self-management group where clients developed healthy coping skills to replace maladaptive ones. Additionally, Ms. Lawner has facilitated a grounding group where clients learned mindfulness and grounding techniques proven beneficial when integrated into everyday life.
Ms. Lawner received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Touro College and University System, Graduate School of Social Work, after completing numerous clinical internships in outpatient mental health and chemical dependency settings. She has received training in Telehealth Ethics and Best Practice and has experience providing teletherapy as an MSW intern at a virtual intensive outpatient program. Ms. Lawner earned qualification to practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) through the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

I was never contacted by the office with a link to the video-appointment. I called and left voicemails, I emailed them and i filled out their contact-form but no one ever picked up the phone or got back to me.
