Welcome—We are glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward healing and growth can feel significant, and you do not have to navigate it alone. Barnika is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with women ages 18 and older who are navigating anxiety, stress, grief and loss, emotional overwhelm, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. Many of the women she supports are managing overthinking, low self-worth, difficulty regulating emotions, or the impact of experiences they are ready to better understand and move through. Her clinical focus includes grief and bereavement, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, identity development, relationship challenges, and both recent and long-standing loss. Barnika’s approach is structured, supportive, and empowering. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-focused approaches, strengths-based care, and person-centered therapy to help clients better understand their experiences while developing practical tools for coping, emotional regulation, communication, and meaningful change. Therapy with Barnika is collaborative and focused on progress rather than perfection. She provides culturally responsive, inclusive care tailored to each client’s experiences, values, and goals. Barnika is also pursuing additional specialization as a Certified Grief Professional to deepen her work with individuals experiencing grief and loss. What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is supportive, structured, and empowering. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest about what you are experiencing while also developing practical tools to help you move forward. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, trauma-focused approaches, strengths-based care, and person-centered therapy based on your needs and goals. You can expect me to listen, support you, and also gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Our work will focus on progress rather than perfection, with attention to emotional regulation, coping, relationships, self-worth, and building confidence in your ability to navigate difficult experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions will focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you would like to change or strengthen. Together, we will identify your goals and begin exploring patterns, experiences, and stressors that may be affecting your emotional well-being. From there, we will develop practical strategies to strengthen coping, emotional regulation, communication, and self-awareness. Therapy is collaborative, so we will regularly check in on your progress, what feels helpful, and where adjustments may be needed. My goal is to help you build on your strengths while developing tools you can continue using outside of therapy.
