Psychotherapist
NY
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. I have experience supporting clients in outpatient, trauma-focused, and community-based settings, including those managing co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. My name is "Be-a-ta" and I look forward to supporting you thru the changes and growth of your life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply compassionate. I believe healing is a personal and ongoing journey, and I strive to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you explore your experiences. I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach, drawing from evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems–informed work. I also incorporate psychodynamic and attachment-based perspectives to help clients better understand patterns, process difficult experiences, and build more fulfilling relationships. Many of the clients I work with are seeking balance, feeling stuck in patterns of overthinking, working through grief or trauma, or trying to reconnect with themselves and others. Together, we focus on developing insight, strengthening emotional regulation, and building practical tools that support meaningful, lasting change. My goal is for therapy to feel both supportive and empowering—helping you move toward greater clarity, connection, and a life that feels more aligned with who you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a thoughtful and individualized approach to therapy. I believe that each person has a unique story, strengths, and challenges, so our work together is always tailored to fit your needs rather than a one-size-fits-all model. My style is warm, attentive, and engaged, while also offering structure and direction when it’s helpful. I work collaboratively with clients to understand what may be contributing to distress, identify patterns, and explore changes that can help you feel more grounded, connected, and empowered. I place a strong emphasis on building self-awareness, deepening emotional understanding, and developing practical tools you can use in your everyday life. I have experience supporting clients with trauma, anxiety, mood concerns, relationship and family challenges, substance use, and life transitions. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to provide care that is respectful, culturally aware, and responsive to each person’s lived experience. My goal is for therapy to feel both supportive and meaningful—so you leave sessions with greater clarity, insight, and a sense of direction.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with an initial session focused on getting to know you and understanding what’s bringing you to therapy at this point in your life. I’ll ask about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, stressors, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, we’ll collaborate on goals and create a plan that feels meaningful and realistic for you. Sessions are tailored to your needs, but often include talking through current challenges, identifying patterns, building insight, and developing practical tools you can use in your daily life. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed therapy, and Internal Family Systems–informed work, depending on what best supports your goals. Over time, we focus on helping you better understand yourself, strengthen coping and emotional regulation, and make changes that feel aligned with the life you want to create. My goal is for sessions to feel supportive, collaborative, and productive—so you leave with both insight and tools you can truly use outside of therapy.
