Beatrice Cross, MA

Psychotherapist
7851 185th St, Ste 203, Tinley Park, IL
While I identify as a person-centered therapist, I believe in taking an integrative approach and utilizing components from various theories, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems. I have experience using different techniques such as play therapy and trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I am EMDR trained. Regardless of your motivation for seeking therapy, it is important to understand that anyone can benefit from having a safe space to work through stressors such as grief-related issues, life transitions, trauma, and relational challenges. I look forward to being that safe space on your journey to healing. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University and a Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University. Clinical areas of interest and training include sexual trauma, high-risk sexual behaviors, self-injurious behaviors, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, bipolar disorder, relational struggles, crisis intervention, substance abuse, and LGBTQ+ concerns. I have worked in community-based agencies and school settings, providing a variety of mental health services to individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Currently, I work in a supervisory role at a residential facility, where I teach trauma-informed care to direct care professionals while providing therapy services to youth considered “at risk.” I have experience working with Bipolar Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, ADHD, ASD, self-harming behaviors, substance abuse, and sexual issues. I enjoy working with teens, adolescents, adults, families, and individuals. My passion lies in supporting individuals with trauma, utilizing clinically supported interventions including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT).
