Getting to know Belen Anchondo

Hi! I'm Belen. Are you looking for change but feel stuck? Maybe you want to break certain patterns or need guidance on how to cope with stress, anxiety, or depression. Perhaps you’ve reached a point in your life where you feel you have lost your identity and need help reconnecting with yourself. I am passionate about helping people create a more fulfilling life—a life where they can feel like themselves again. I enjoy working with people who are open-minded and willing to reflect in order to make necessary adjustments to improve their lives. As a Latina woman, I offer a unique perspective to help empower women to develop healthier relationships with themselves and others. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas, San Antonio, which equips me with the skills and knowledge to support you on your journey toward growth and healing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients who work with me can expect to gain more self-awareness. I ask reflection questions to help you achieve this, and will help identify distortions in your thought patterns. After awareness is achieved, the biggest portion of therapy is focused on challenging and replacing thoughts that no longer serve you. I do this in a very gentle approach, and go at a pace you are comfortable with. The amount of time before change is evident varies from person to person, but it can be achieved with effort and repetition. My ultimate goal is for you to have the skills necessary to cope with things on your own, and that is the point where therapy usually ends. I always welcome clients to reach back out whenever they need to. Life is always changing, and we all need a check-in every now and then!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I am so thankful to have someone like Belen to help me work through things that I am going through. She is someone that I feel comfortable talking and I cannot recommend her enough.
I appreciate how she embraces the humor in my stories, helps makes sense of my ramblings and connecting dots I am not quite able to do when processing things alone.
I appreciate that Belen asks thought-invoking questions. I find it really hard to talk about myself but the questions she poses make me dig deeper and I find myself talking more than I thought I could.
