Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Belen! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Texas at El Paso. I address areas my clients find beneficial for successful mental health outcomes using creative, life-affirming approaches. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment as we embark on their journey toward mental health goals. My approach I use a person-centered approach to ensure clients feel heard, seen, and safe. I employ various methods, from play therapy to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Every client, whether in person or online, experiences a therapeutic relationship before we assess and discuss the best approach for them. Each person is unique, and I aim to help them move forward on their mental health journey. My focus I work with clients ages 7 to 65 with diverse experiences, including trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and life changes. My work in various settings has allowed me to engage creatively and playfully with clients of all ages. My communication style I am warm, welcoming, calm, and personable. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to openly share their concerns and experiences without fear of judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I have been in private practice for eight years and have over nineteen years of experience as a school counselor in elementary, middle, and high schools. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults to pursue treatment goals using positive solutions for improved mental health. I am certified in EMDR therapy, a trauma-informed therapist, and trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
