Hi there, I'm Benjamin! Hello! Openness and Honesty are the keys to change. It's awesome you're taking this step! We can sort through what's important to help you figure the best way forward. What's the best way to start? My approach I'm trained in several complementary modalities, so that I can offer a best-fit therapy (CBT, DBT, EMDR, Narrative). My goal is to help a person grow in emotional intelligence as we work together through the life challenges they face. This way, he or she will emerge feeling more capable than ever. My focus If you feel stuck and unsure, I want to work with you. It might be a relationship, a career choice, past trauma, or hopes for the future. We'll identify your personal meaning and next steps to take. My communication style I prioritize engagement. I think it's important to connect on a human level in addition to focusing on content. I can be direct, but only if it's helpful. I do my best to meet each person's needs, whether it's clear action plan or space to contemplate. My journey to mental healthcare I decided early on I wanted to invest in what would last, which to me is helping people live each day centered in their whole self. I began as an in-home caregiver while I completed a master's in social work. I volunteered in Africa with the Peace Corps. I spent many years in community mental health where I earned my license, and most recently I've been helping refugees build a new life. But individual therapy is my strong passion. If I can help just one person embrace life more eagerly, it's been a good day. My goals for you We begin by giving ourselves permission to feel. At the core of our emotions, we discover our humanity, our needs, and the needs of those around us. When we can identify the needs at stake, we have the clarity to take proactive steps in reaching goals and feeling good about it.

He is kind and insightful. He has helped me to move along in coping with the loss of my husband of 52 years. He has helped me focus on my abilities and my plans moving forward, while helping me see that what I am experiencing in my grief is acceptable, understandable, and true.
Ben is a great fellow! This is my first time trying counseling and I'm very happy with the process. He got an appealing presence and energy. Been very helpful in assisting me in understanding and figuring out solutions to some family issues. I would highly recommend him !

Benjamin is new to me and we are just getting to know each other. He listens very thoughtfully and is gathering information. He remembers what has been said previously and brings it back into the conversation appropriately to clarify or direct.
