When was the last time you had a good laugh? Or felt like your brain was calm? Or felt really confident that you were running your own life-not your anxiety, obsessive thoughts, or big emotions? If it feels like it's been a while since you could actually enjoy life, then maybe it's a good thing you're here. Therapy can seem like a really serious thing to jump into. It is! But it doesn't need to feel that way. It's possible to do hard things, face the fears and anxieties that keep you stuck, and grow into the person you want to be. You can do all of that, and it can even be fun. Enjoyable. Something you look forward to. As a therapist for 10+ years, I've had the opportunity to walk alongside people facing all sorts of challenges. I earned my Master's in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas. I've practiced Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for 11 years and have been trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the most effective therapy for treating OCD. I focus on utilizing evidence-based treatments that work. I became a therapist because of how helpful therapy was for me. Having a person to walk through my own challenges with was invaluable. I know how uncomfortable it can feel to reach out for help from someone you've never met. I hope you'll take that step. Therapy can be challenging. It can also be rewarding and joyful. It's worth it. Let's talk.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The most important part of therapy is the relationship. My goal in our initial sessions is to connect with you and help you to feel comfortable.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I often utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy principles and skills in my practice. I've trained in ERP and am passionate about working with people that struggle with OCD and other anxiety disorders. Our first session will focus on helping you feel comfortable, as well as exploring what you're hoping to get out of therapy.
