Psychotherapist
GA
We specialize in talk therapy and, at this time, do not offer prescription services. If you’re looking for a supportive space to work through difficult emotions, strengthen coping skills, and make lasting personal change, you’re in the right place. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 22 years of experience providing mental health and substance abuse treatment. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University and my Bachelor’s degree from Georgia College and State University. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with individuals who were navigating everything from everyday stress to deeper struggles related to mood, trauma, relationships, and recovery. In therapy, we’ll explore how your thoughts, feelings, and actions connect to what’s happening in your daily life—along with how they can impact your sense of safety, stability, and fulfillment. My goal is to empower you to take an active role in your own growth. Together, we’ll identify patterns that keep you stuck, build healthier ways of thinking and responding, and create practical strategies you can use long after sessions end. I use an approachable, open-minded, and often gently humorous style of counseling—because change is much easier when you feel respected, understood, and comfortable. Your needs will always come first. I tailor the therapeutic approach to fit who you are, what you’re dealing with, and what you want to be different. Most importantly, please know that you will be met with compassion and respect. I will never judge you for your circumstances. My focus is on helping you feel heard, supported, and strengthened—at a pace that works for you. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where insight, healing, and meaningful personal change can truly take root.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia College and State University and my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to support people in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, prisons, jails, and psychiatric hospitals. These experiences have shown me how important it is to meet clients with patience, dignity, and practical support—especially when emotions feel intense or progress feels uncertain. I’ve also volunteered with counseling services, hospice care, the Salvation Army, and local food banks, reinforcing my belief that healing often includes more than symptom reduction. It also involves feeling supported, safe, and understood. In therapy, I aim to combine clinical skill with genuine care so clients can build insight and develop tools they can use in everyday life. My clinical specialties include depression, anxiety, stress management, anger management, relationship concerns, trauma reactions/PTSD, substance use, dual diagnosis, psychosis, LGBTQ+ issues, men’s issues, aging, and life purpose—along with many other emotional and life challenges. I work collaboratively with clients to understand what’s driving their symptoms, identify patterns that keep them stuck, and create a plan that aligns with their goals and values. Whether you’re looking for help processing trauma, managing anxiety or mood, improving communication and boundaries, or finding greater direction and meaning, I’m here to support you with empathy and steady guidance.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I welcome the opportunity to work with you in a collaborative, respectful, and supportive way. I will take time to understand your needs as you describe them—what you’re going through, what’s been hardest, and what you hope will change. Therapy works best when you feel heard and valued, and when the plan fits you, not the other way around. I believe every person has inherent worth and should be treated with dignity throughout the healing process. You deserve a space where judgment has no place—whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma-related symptoms, or challenges related to substance use. I will not judge you for your circumstances or for the ways you’ve had to cope to get through difficult moments. Together, we’ll focus on healing and meaningful emotional change at a pace that feels safe and manageable. That may include gaining insight into how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect, breaking patterns that keep you stuck, building coping skills, and strengthening your sense of safety, confidence, and stability. You’ll also have room to explore what matters most to you—your goals, values, and relationships. My goal is for you to feel empowered, supported, and understood. I believe you have strengths and insight, and therapy can help you bring those strengths forward—turning struggle into progress and helping you move toward a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and hopeful. If you’re looking for a therapist who listens with care and treats you with respect from the start, I’d be honored to support you.
