“Bethany has a very empathetic communication style that really helps create a safe-space feeling, which was really important for me because of my anxiety and difficulty getting vulnerable with most people. She provides very useful insights and comments on my issues that gave me a lot of clarity. Importantly for me, she is extremely flexible with logistics, and lets me choose how frequently or infrequently we have sessions. I really highly recommend her, especially to anyone who is new to therapy or unsure if it's right for them - you will appeciate her gentle approach.”

Getting to know Bethany R Wilcox

If you recently lost a loved one through death or a traumatic breakup, you are likely in the grieving process. You may be overwhelmed by waves of emotion or feel like the rug has been pulled from beneath your feet, and you have not yet found solid ground. Traumatic loss abruptly changes everything. Your world will never be the same, but you can find a new way forward. I specialize in helping courageous people process deep emotions and get through grief while finding purpose in life. Healing from loss takes time and deep emotional work. Over the past 8 years as a Hospice social worker and Bereavement therapist, I’ve witnessed healing from grief complicated by conflicted relationships, medical trauma, and underlying mental health challenges. Often, we get stuck in circular thoughts that produce feelings of guilt or regret as we replay scenes wishing we could go back in time. Together, we can assess where you may be stuck and unlock compassion and growth. If you are looking for a counselor who can provide support, education, resources, and unconditional positive regard, please reach out. You do not have to go through this alone. During our first sessions, we will discuss your grief symptoms and review your loss history. We will explore how you are coping, what supports you, and what drains your energy. I will offer resources and education as we work together. This work can be emotional, but clients often find relief after even the first session. I encourage scheduling time after each session to rest and digest the work done. Grief can leave us feeling broken open as the emotional experience is chaotic and priorities shift dramatically. My strength is to actively listen and help you sort through and process experiences. I am warm and validating and have witnessed many heal from trauma and grief. Healing takes time. My goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you choose to work with me, I will be your companion as you walk the path to rediscovering your passion and purpose. I will not tell you the best road to take but will support you to follow your instinct and empower you to connect with your inner wisdom as a guide.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
