Betty Bae received her Bachelor's degree from Colgate University and her Master of Science from Columbia University School of Social Work, where she began her training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Betty's interest has always been working with complex problems, behaviors, and symptoms driven by emotional and cognitive dysregulation in invalidating environments. Her career has spanned the foster care system, seven years in the juvenile justice system, hospital residential treatment, and outpatient DBT practice. She has completed intensive trainings including DBT with adolescents, Behavioral Tech DBT trainings, DBT-PE, and DBT with families. She has special interests in working with individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, anxiety disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, and PTSD, focusing on what is effective and working toward a life worth living.
