Hi! I'm Beverly Leonard, a licensed mental health counselor with over 25 years of experience. I'm here to support you through life's challenges and help you find inspiration and happiness on your unique journey. Let's work together to discover new perspectives and embrace the path ahead. My counseling style is customized to fit the unique needs, strengths, and challenges of each person I work with. I focus on understanding my clients' goals and struggles from a supportive and human-centered viewpoint. Once we clarify what a client wants to achieve, I use different approaches to guide our sessions. I especially like to use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Humanistic Counseling. If a client shows signs of trauma, I use trauma-informed care, which helps them build coping skills and work through their experiences in a thoughtful way. Primarily I work with adults, but I have experience with adolescents as well, particularly those with anxiety or depression. I have several years of experience working in the field of addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and family issues. More recently, my practice has been focused on helping adults who were diagnosed with ADHD later in life, people who have chronic pain or stress, and people who are working their way out of stressful relationships or work experiences. I cultivate a warm and nonjudgmental therapy space, allowing clients to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions. Clients frequently express that they feel deeply understood and appreciate my ability to hold space for their feelings while also engaging them in the process of better understanding themselves, others, and the world around them. My passion for helping those in distress was nurtured by conversations around my grandmother's dinner table, where my aunts discussed their challenges and shared ways to support others.
