Beverly Wooden, LPC Associate

Beverly Wooden, LPC Associate

Psychotherapist
101 N Main St, Rhome, TX
The provider is supervised by Andrew Dutton. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start therapy. I work with people who feel pressure to perform, hold it together, or meet expectations; even when they’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure who they are outside of those roles. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity concerns, stress, burnout, or performance pressure, and are looking for a space where they can finally slow down and be honest with themselves. At Beyond the Session Counseling, I take a holistic and collaborative approach to therapy. That means we look at the whole picture; not just what’s happening in your thoughts, but how your emotions, relationships, body, environment, and daily stressors are shaping your experience. Together, we build insight, practical tools, and sustainable change that extends beyond the therapy room and into everyday life. I also specialize in sports performance counseling, supporting athletes and high achievers who struggle with pressure, identity concerns, body image, injury recovery, burnout, and major life transitions. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something to shift, therapy can be a place to reconnect with yourself and move forward in a way that feels more grounded and authentic.

What should a new client know about working with you?

From the very first session, my goal is for you to feel safe, understood, and respected. Therapy with me is not about performing, having the “right” answers, or explaining yourself perfectly. You’re allowed to show up exactly as you are, even if you feel unsure, conflicted, or stuck. I view therapy as a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to support, guide, and walk alongside you as we make sense of what’s coming up and what you want to change. I strive to create a space that feels calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental, where curiosity replaces pressure and growth happens at a pace that feels sustainable. Clients often tell me they appreciate my balance of warmth, structure, and practicality. I’m not just here to listen, I’m also here to help you build tools, develop insight, and make changes that feel meaningful and realistic in your real, everyday life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy begins with getting to know you: your story, your stressors, your goals, and what brought you in. Early sessions focus on building trust and understanding the emotional, relational, physical, and environmental factors that may be contributing to how you’re feeling. We move at a pace that feels comfortable, and nothing is forced. As we continue, sessions become more intentional and tailored to your needs. Depending on what you’re working on, this may include building coping skills, exploring patterns, strengthening self-awareness, addressing performance pressure, or navigating transitions and identity concerns. I integrate practical tools with deeper reflection so therapy feels both grounding and actionable. Throughout our work together, we regularly check in on what’s working and what isn’t. The goal is not just insight during sessions, but growth that carries into your daily life, helping you feel more balanced, confident, and connected long after therapy ends.
