Hi there, I'm Bianca! My name is Bianca Aguilar, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s in Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I have worked in the field for more than 12 years and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2. I take pride in tailoring my treatment to focus on patient-specific needs, which may require the use of several modalities. My approach I am trained in and utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Mindfulness is also used regularly to support healing. My focus I help clients manage trauma including PTSD, depression and anxiety, addictions of varying types, grief and loss, and personality disorders. My communication style I offer a supportive, non-judgmental, and safe space for therapy that is conducive to healing and growth. My journey to mental healthcare The mind and body are fascinating to me, and that drives my passion to help people understand themselves and foster growth. This work excites and intrigues me, and I take pride and pleasure in being a part of it. My goals for you I like to create goals together using the client’s strengths. I always meet clients where they are in their readiness for counseling, change, and growth while gently challenging them to help facilitate achieving their goals. My first session with you I take a thorough history and discuss the client’s motivation to seek counseling now, their current symptoms, and what they expect from counseling. I also explain what counseling will look like and what I realistically feel I can offer, ensuring expectations align with what we can achieve together.
