Psychotherapist
111 2nd Ave NE, Ste 1101, St. Petersburg, FL
I came to this profession because I was fascinated with the human mind and personality. My interest in the psyche and what it means to be a healthy human began with reading literature on human growth potential and holistic health. As I learned that many of our limitations are self-imposed, I tried to find out more about myself and my limitations. This leads me on a journey of self-discovery, exploring ancient and modern philosophies, practicing meditation and dynamic forms of mindfulness, learning about personality traits, and confronting unhealthy beliefs. While working at Deepak Chopra’s Center for Well-Being, I was exposed to alternative approaches to healing. I also explored the Enneagram personality system and ways to apply it to counseling and personal development. Following that, I decided to incorporate modern psychology and pursue a counseling degree. Accumulating knowledge and skills to grow and help others became my mission. I believe that blending the best of ancient knowledge and innovative approaches is the most effective way to change our lives positively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My commitment to my clients is to always hold a safe, non-judgmental space where they can explore their difficulties and confront them in an honest way. In my experience, healing can only occur when we are honest with ourselves about our challenges, and this can take tremendous courage. I believe that assisting clients in their growth and positive life change is one of the highest privileges as a counselor.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to counseling is holistic wellness which integrates mindfulness techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), existential therapy, and humanistic therapy. I emphasize the mind/body connection along with identifying and addressing unhealthy patterns and beliefs.
