Psychotherapist
MS
I'm a counselor who offers a non-judgmental approach by providing a safe, compassionate space where you will feel heard, respected, and empowered to make the changes that matter to you. Your goals for therapy are exactly that.....your goals, not mine. I am here to guide you in that journey. My approach I like to use the approach to a client's concerns by learning as much as I can about their past challenges and problem-solving as we explore their confidence and willingness to change current behaviors. My focus My ideal clients are those facing life transitions and those open to self-reflection and growth. I support their needs by exploring their personal motivations, coping skills, insights, and therapeutic goals. My communication style My communication style is sincere and warm with personal openness. I value honesty, trust, and real connection. My journey to mental healthcare I started my journey as a provider by getting a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy. I minored in Psychology due to the many psychology courses we had to take in order to fulfill the Music Therapy curriculum. I worked for 5 years as an Activities Director and Assistant Manager of a retirement community, where I incorporated music therapy as much as possible. I recognized my desire and natural ability to engage in more of a counseling role as I worked closely with the residents and their families. I then went on to complete my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology while completing licensure requirements at a behavioral health facility in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Ten years later, I decided to return to college to achieve my Doctorate in Education in Counseling Psychology, as I enjoy the counseling and teaching arena of my profession. My goals for you I like to explore clients personal objectives and their level of committment to reach their goals for treatment.
