Getting to know Bonita Reyes

"Hello, I'm Bonita. Life always has a way of throwing curveballs at us and trying to get us to the point of breaking. I am a firm believer that nobody walking this Earth is broken and that everyone has the capabilities to heal and feel whole again. Many times, in order to achieve this, we need a little assistance, a gentle hand, encouragement, and support. I am passionate about helping those reach their full potential and working in this field. I truly enjoy watching people heal, grow, and have their 'aha' moments during sessions. I chose this field ultimately to give a voice to the voiceless, to take away stereotypes of youth, to provide an outlet for youth who have no other outlet, and to give hope to those that feel hopeless. I wanted to alleviate struggles, thoughts, and problematic behaviors that youth have the unfortunate experience of undergoing and wanted to take the weight from youth who walk around with 'adult problems' so that they can try to have a childhood and learn and unlearn behaviors associated with such. I absolutely wanted to give a voice, advocate in a way, and just be another resource for marginalized groups, so I began my journey. Allow me to aid in providing you a safe space as you go through your journey of healing and find your voice and strength. I have worked in clinical outpatient settings, as well as a short-term inpatient medical facility. I have provided individual and family therapy. I am thrilled to have a niche of working with the youth. I also serve adults and have had the pleasure of seeing the benefits in working with both. I specialize in trauma and grief and have a background in depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. I have also had several years of joyful experience in treating diverse populations, including but not limited to the LGBTQIA+ community, abuse victims, and other marginalized groups.
