Bonnie Billings, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Bonnie! My goal is to offer an understanding and a compassionate space where you can get in touch with your inner thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. This can assist you towards becoming more grounded, aware, and connected to yourself as well as your relationships in your life. My focus Do you ever feel alone with that inner voice that tells you you're "not enough"? Do you constantly overthink decisions that you make? If so, you're not alone. Experiencing trauma can leave a heavy toll on the nervous system and one's ability to feel safe. Together, we can uncover the roots of the self-critical and "not enough" voice. My approach I am an integrative, trauma informed psychotherapist. I incorporate experiential approaches, the mind-body connection, and attachment theory to enhance emotional regulation and help you feel more at ease in navigating everyday life. My communication style Our work together will will be met with unconditional acceptance, creative approaches, and compassion. You can expect me to meet you where you're at and allow time for reflection with a calm, focused manner. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into therapy began as a curiosity to learn more about how the human spirit can heal from adversity. It saddened me to see the various life paths that others took to cope with their personal suffering. I admire the quote by Helen Keller "Although the world if full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it" My goals for you We will collaborate together on identifying goals that are important to you. As the therapy process allows you to gain new insights about your life, we will continue to adjust the focus of treatment step by step, as it unfolds. Our first session Your first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and what you are hoping to attain in therapy. It's normal to feel a little nervous. I would encourage you to share with me what parts of our session are helpful.
