Getting to know Brandee Sosa

As a psychotherapist, Brandee’s approach is simple; to work alongside her clients and guide them into shaping the life they want to live. Brandee leads practical skills that clients can incorporate for a lifetime of learning. She feels that each individual is the master and expert of their own story; her role is to provide the skills, techniques, and ‘how-to’ for clients to achieve their goals. Additionally, as a trauma-informed therapist, Brandee understands how sometimes our past behaviors and thinking patterns from previous experiences can create habits that no longer serve us. Her previous work with addressing problem behaviors in children and adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities provided the groundwork of her therapeutic approach to be client led, strengths-based, empathetic, creative, and flexible. Brandee loves the work that she does, bearing witness to the resiliency in people’s stories, and the honor of working alongside folks in their journey to become their best selves. Brandee earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Soon after graduating, she proceeded to earn her Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Brandee has since then trained as a Cognitive Behavioral therapist, working with a variety of age populations and concerns. Brandee was born and raised in Los Angeles, where she currently resides with her partner and their multiple fur babies. Besides her love of all things psychology, Brandee enjoys hiking, any craft she can get her hands on, discovering new and fun places to eat, and travel.
