Brandis Brooke Judkins, LCMHC

Brandis Brooke Judkins, LCMHC

Psychotherapist
NC
I've built my career around guiding and supporting individuals and families toward greater connection and healing. My clients often struggle with relational challenges involving a child, partner, parent, or even their connection to self. Many feel they have tried to find resolution but continue to experience distress and despair. They may face frequent and intense dysregulation and have difficulty returning to a state of calm. Handling conflict and communicating in clear, authentic ways are common struggles. Typical issues I address include anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, and difficulties within primary relationships. I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology and a PhD in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee, which inform my approach and deepen my understanding of these complex dynamics.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have worked with individuals, parents, and families for 22 years providing therapy, workshops, and intensives. I bring a balance of structure and openness to therapy sessions, emphasizing safety and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, and Attachment Theory into my work. If you are struggling with a primary relationship in your life, experiencing a life transition, encountering grief and loss, have residual trauma, or want to learn about befriending your nervous system (and parts) so you can reliably find your way back to safety and regulation, please reach out to me.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At the beginning of our work together we will establish your goals for therapy, identifying what you would like support with. Our sessions will focus on supporting you in the personal growth or healing that you're seeking. It's not uncommon for therapy goals and focus to evolve over time. We'll move with where your system needs to go, while having the necessary structure in our sessions. At the beginning of each session we'll check-in on what you and your system need or want us to focus on in our time together that session.
