Getting to know Brandy Mills

The provider is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is Brandy Mills. I wholeheartedly believe that a strong connection with a therapist can facilitate lasting change. If you're feeling exhausted, stuck and yearning for more, you are not alone. You've come to the right place. I can help you feel lighter, less lonely, and more like the YOU that you desire to be. I am passionately committed to turning rough patches into springboards for real and lasting change. I’m a mom of 3 school aged kids. I spent a decade in the pharmaceutical industry, before I was a stay-at-home mom, and I’ve also been a yoga teacher, substitute teacher, and volunteer, to name a few. Born and raised in southern Kentucky, I have called Manhattan Beach and the South Bay home since 2017. I obtained my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University-Los Angeles and received my training during graduate school from Jewish Family & Children's Services in Long Beach. Through my education and training, I quickly found that I have a knack for seeing people that they can feel. I am naturally curious, and that curiosity allows me to help my clients look at things in ways that never occurred to them before. I have been described as warm, compassionate and relatable.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I absolutely love helping adults (especially moms), adolescents and couples to feel more peace and joy in life. My passion is connecting with others in a meaningful way. I believe that my clients are experts in their own lives, and I work with them to help empower themselves to harness that expertise. Also, my practice does not accept insurance. I am considered "out of network" which means I require payment directly from clients for the sessions. If your insurance offers mental health service benefits, I am happy to send you a superbill to submit to your insurance company directly for reimbursement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once I receive your booking, I will send over all necessary paperwork for you to fill out electronically. Even if your appointment is confirmed, I am unable to conduct a session until this paperwork is completed. In our first session, I will take a lot of time to understand all of your symptoms and goals for therapy. There is no need to prepare ahead. I am naturally curious and inquisitive and will ask you many questions in our first session. I do this to take the guesswork out of the process. I believe the more intimately I can understand you and your situation, the better positioned I will be to help you reach your goals and to feel better. Of course, though, feel free to bring a list of questions. I want our first and every session to be collaborative. I try to be completely transparent and welcome any and all questions.
