Hello, I'm Brenda. It is my deep desire to help those who seek to grow emotionally and improve their daily functioning and relationships. I am a caring, compassionate professional who enjoys working with youth and adults of all ages. I have extensive experience helping people through a variety of mental health conditions and life circumstances, including mood disorders (anxiety, depression), family instability, chronic illness, women's issues (including postpartum depression), grief and loss, trauma, and life transitions. My approach to counseling is to build a relationship with you that is based on trust and respect. Through that relationship, we will explore the issues that have brought you to counseling and, together, we will find ways to help you feel better. I have a lot of knowledge and experience in ways to help, but you are the expert on you. I always look to honor that philosophy by carefully listening and empowering you to find ways to heal, function in a healthy manner, and move forward with your life. I hold an MSW and am a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical. My specialties include family relationships, grief/bereavement, medical issues/physical health, multicultural/diversity issues, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, trauma, anxiety, depression, and adolescent & teen mental/behavioral health.
