OCD can create overwhelming cycles. As a therapist, I strive to show the connections between how you think, how you act, and how you feel, and how we can break those cycles. Getting back to being you takes practice. I’d like to invite you to invest in yourself as you begin treatment. I will join and challenge you to reach within yourself to find the life you're looking for. I also focus on anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I can provide treatment in English or Spanish. How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy ERP is collaborative, and you should feel safe and secure to question me about what the purpose of an exposure is. When we first start working together, I will let you know that you can tell me no if you're not ready to do an exposure, as long as it's followed up by, "but I'm willing to do this instead." My message to you if you're struggling right now Members sometimes come in unsure if they can handle ERP—just know that we will work together to one-up OCD. How I help address cultural stigmas I can do my sessions in Spanish and Spanglish, which helps many Members feel comfortable. I'm Mexican American and mental health is highly stigmatized in my culture. The longer that I work in the field, the more I really want to support my roots and where I come from. The most rewarding part of treating OCD It's powerful seeing Members work their way up toward their core fears. One Member I worked with took her biggest fear and turned it into her career, which is really amazing.
