Psychotherapist
IL
Hi, I am Brendalis and go by Brenda. Do you feel tired of being undervalued or feel that you do not matter? I am here to help you improve those feelings and help you understand that you do matter, and you are valuable. I love helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their well-being. I have vast experience working with individuals dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem, family dynamics, and life-changing events. I consider myself an eclectic social worker who understands that one approach doesn't fit all, and I like to utilize different techniques based on the client's needs. Talking about our feelings makes us feel vulnerable; therefore, one of the most important steps in the healing journey is developing a strong client-therapist relationship. My goal is to help alleviate the stigma and provide the comfort that will help you improve the symptoms that seem to be holding you back in a non-judgmental way. When it comes to change, I can relate. As a military wife, I have been through many changes and challenges. Whether it was relocating to a new place, leaving family and friends, or starting over, I completely understand how scary it can be. I am here to help you through that process of change and the fear of the unknown. I recently moved to Florida and am licensed in Illinois, Iowa, and Washington State. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of New England. I am here to help you through your healing journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first sessions we will work together on creating a therapist and client relationship to help you feel comfortable and to identify if I am the right fit for you through this healing journey. My goal is to guide you in a non-judgmental and empathetic manner. We will work on a history taking; we will be discussing different aspects you would like to work on and improve. We will work on a treatment plan, we will identify your goals, and different techniques to achieve your goals. My goal is to teach you coping skills that will help you feel empower.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
