Brendan McKenna, LICSW

Brendan McKenna, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MA
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with five years experience working in community health, inpatient psychiatry, and integrated primary care. I am fully licensed in Massachusetts and licensed for telehealth sessions in Vermont. I have expertise working with adolescents and adults from early adulthood through the onset of elderly ages. I have helped to diagnose and treat ailments from the more common conditions like anxiety, depression, and substance use all the way through some of the most difficult types of psychiatric disorders (delusions, treatment resistant depression, medication resistant psychosis). Curiosity & compassion are the core of my success. I always tailor my approach to the needs of my clients, offering techniques from treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more. Although I don’t believe that laughter is the best medicine, I appreciate and incorporate the ability to laugh at life’s absurdities in my work. I also bring a strong sense of social justice and fairness to my work. I endeavor to practice with humility in a culturally competent way, incorporating anti-racism, LGBTQIA+ support, spirituality, and mindfulness
