Brenna Prince, LPC

Psychotherapist
SC
Hi, I'm Brenna Miller, MA, LPC, with a Master's in Clinical Health Services and training as a Charleston County Medic 1. I focus on attachment styles that lead to poor relationship patterns in your life. Often, childhood trauma is overlooked, and people get stuck in cycles of problematic relationships they can't seem to break free from-and don't understand why. I treat all kinds of trauma but specialize in trauma related to childhood and relationships. My approach I use a mix of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and IFS (internal family systems) to identify negative beliefs and parts of ourselves that maintain maladaptive patterns, keeping us stuck from living the fulfilling life we strive for. My focus As a former police officer, I enjoy working with first responders and military personnel. I also support many adults navigating big life changes such as new careers, moving to new locations, parenthood, and more. My communication style Working with me feels like talking to yourself in a mirror-but one that helps you see parts of yourself you haven't always been aware of, parts that may be in the driver's seat of your life. You have everything you need to succeed within you; I'm here to help you discover those strengths and heal the parts of yourself you keep hidden from the world-whether out of fear, shame, or disappointment. My journey to mental healthcare I've always been deeply curious about why we as human beings do the things we do. I ask “what happened” rather than “what's wrong with you.” Starting my career as a police officer, I realized I couldn't help in the way I wanted. I saw a great need for slowing down and truly understanding how our life experiences shape how we act, think, and feel. Being a therapist has given me a way to connect with others, strengthen community, and help create a better world for those I love.
