Brent Hope, LCSW

Psychotherapist
IL
My view of people formed as a kid whose childhood was influenced by two cultural pivot points: Fred Rogers and the album “Free to Be, You and Me.” Helping people overcome the challenges of difficult emotions like guilt, shame, or any of life’s stressors, starts with reconnecting them to their inherent worth. When having painful moments, seeking help connects us to the human dignity we all share & presents the opportunity to heal & grow. I’m Brent and I’ve been a clinical social worker in Chicago for over 30 years. I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy along with CBT, DBT, and self psychology to help adults 18+ get unstuck. I view my role as coming alongside a client at a particular time on their journey, helping them travel with greater self compassion & resilience. While working to heal & recover from a current challenge, clients often develop the flexibility & insight needed to reduce suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar conditions, and trauma in the future. I’m passionate about this work because I truly believe it is never too late to heal. Seeing your change & growth in functionality while also developing greater hope, healthy self-care habits, and increased self-worth is a voyage I’m excited to embark on each and every time.
