Psychotherapist
WA
Hi there, I'm Brett! My passion is supporting new mothers, families and young children. New parenthood and those early years can be uniquely challenging and often isolating. If you are feeling overwhelmed in this season you are not alone. I would love to be another person on your team to help you become the parent (and person!) you want to be. My focus I work with parents either individually or conjointly with their young children or partner. My clients are parents in the pregnancy, postpartum or early years of parenthood. I also provide family-focused therapy for young children up to age 7. My approach Every child and every parent is unique and I will partner with you to develop individualized strategies that will make things easier, more joyful and less stressful for you and your family. I am relationship and attachment focused. My goal is to improve communication and deepen understanding between you and those you love the most. My communication style I am warm, supportive, nonjudgemental and down to earth. As a person that spends a lot of time around young children, I know that having flexibility and being able to “go with the flow” is sometimes very important. I will also bring balance, consistency and structure when needed. My journey to mental healthcare I have always loved working with young children. I am inspired by their honesty, resiliency and capacity for change. Nearly 10 years in the field has made me keenly aware of the complexities of new "family-hood." I love helping new parents connect to their children and themselves during this challenging time. My goals for you I want to know what is most important to you. We will work closely to identify challenges and determine where to focus our work and who you would like to include. I use Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Reflective Parenting. I am also trained in Perinatal Mental Health and Gottman “Bringing Baby Home” program.
