Getting to know Brett D'Aoust

Congratulations on taking the first step toward getting better! You may be here because you are struggling and want some help, and it is essential to find the therapist who is right for you. Maybe you're just tired of feeling stuck or not good enough. Or maybe you're exhausted from repeating the same patterns, getting into the wrong relationships. Maybe you can't get over that person you lost. Therapy is not a miracle. You're not going to wake up tomorrow in an ideal world without putting some effort into getting well. But if I do my job, and if you do your part, you can quickly feel better and then work your way toward a happy life-whatever that word means to you. Yes, the right therapy with the right person offers incredible breakthroughs, facilitates closure, and can lead to a newer version of you! Now let me tell you more about me. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Florida State University and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been practicing for 20 years in France and the USA as a mental health counselor and fully trained EMDR therapist. I have met clients experiencing all sorts of emotional and behavioral disorders. I have counseled patients feeling stuck, underachieved, burnt out, anxious, depressed, and unhappy, as well as persons suffering from overwhelming feelings due to substance abuse, phobia, loss, grief, PTSD, trauma, and addiction. As therapy is not one size fits all, I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as the person-centered approach (Carl Rogers), the psychodynamic approach, and EMDR, to guide my clients through a fast healing process. My ultimate goal? Helping you embrace your life without needing therapy anymore. So let's get to work!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize an approach of compassion, respect, and dignity for the client with the intention of providing valuable coping skills to be successful in life. I utilize motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral, and client centered approaches to meet the you in the moment. I will tailor the treatment around your needs and desired outcomes for your life. It takes courage to seek help and if you are ready I am here to empower you on this journey!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
