Psychotherapist
CT
Hi there, I'm Brett! I am Brett Haggan, LMFT, with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University. I take a person-centered, collaborative approach when working with clients. My approach I take a humanistic approach to providing therapy. I am experienced in Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and an array of trauma-informed approaches. My focus I typically work with clients struggling through transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and career challenges. My communication style I approach my clients with compassion and understanding. I believe it is extremely important to develop a solid rapport with each client so they feel comfortable being vulnerable while courageously making changes to become a better version of themselves. My journey to mental healthcare After a few years working in finance, I took a leap of faith and returned to school to become a therapist. It was the best decision I could have made. Nothing fulfills me more than assisting people and watching them grow to meet their fullest potentials. My goals for you I allow clients to set their own goals, and when needed, I assist them in making goals for themselves. We then work together so that goals are achieved one at a time. My first session with you During your first session, you should expect more questions than a typical session. I want to know who you are and what challenges you have been facing. The better I understand you, the better I can adjust my approach to guide you through the changes you will make.
