I appreciate that you have taken this step towards self-growth and healing. This step you have taken is both courageous and possibly intimidating at the same time. I appreciate you allowing me on this journey of healing and growth with you, and I will do all I can to assist you in accomplishing your goals. When you are ready, we can begin traveling a new and healthier life path. My approach I utilize cognitive-behavioral (CBT), narrative, and solution-focused approaches. I feel as though these approaches can allow for a better understanding of the problems we suffer from and are trying to deal with, do not define who we are as people. This allows for more efficient clarity to develop a solution together. I also utilize a humanistic approach, which helps with being reminded that we are all inherently good people, and our choices do not define our lives; they are a part, but ultimately, people have the ability to carve out their own path. My focus Suffering from anxiety, depression, or stress? We can develop a coping strategy that is attainable and makes sense to you, on how we minimize the presence of those problems. My communication style I utilize a non-judgmental communication approach. I will actively listen and assist you with resolving whatever issue you need assistance with resolving. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a provider was similar to most; I wanted to help other people. That journey started in college when I volunteered to be part of a peer support group. We were available for our fellow students if they wanted someone to talk to, knowing our conversations were private and confidential. After college and into graduate school, my core goal was still to help others. As I entered the “working world” and gained more experience working with families and individuals, I started to modify and gain more understanding of what I wanted to accomplish and offer as a provider.
