Hi there, I'm Brian! I believe therapy can be a gift—a pause from life’s stressors and a chance to view your experience from a new perspective. Therapy can also be challenging—it asks us to be honest, to reflect deeply, and to shift patterns that may no longer serve us. In my experience, meaningful change happens in the context of a strong therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a calm, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to explore, question, and grow. My approach I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to address the needs of the whole person—emotionally, cognitively, and behaviorally. My approach is always tailored to the individual and their specific therapeutic goals, but along our path, I often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help change unhelpful thought and behavior patterns that have led to emotional pain. I use Exposure and Response Prevention to support clients in facing fears that interfere with their life goals, and Motivational Interviewing to explore ambivalence and strengthen readiness for change. I draw on Psychodynamic Therapy to uncover deeper patterns and tensions that might be hindering progress, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to build skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to clarify values and commit to positive actions aligned with your principles. Depending on your needs, we may use Mindfulness techniques to become more centered in the present, or Existential Therapy to reflect on your life’s purpose and develop a more intentional philosophy of living. My focus My ideal client is an adult who is struggling to cope with uncertainty and stress, whatever its source. Sometimes life events such as a big transition, mid-life stressors, job loss, or retirement can strain our ability to handle everyday tasks. In addition, underlying anxiety disorders, such as panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviors.
