Psychotherapist

Life can be challenging, stressful, and painful. While our friends and family may be there to help us, sometimes we need the assistance of an unbiased, non-judgmental professional to process what we go through and the emotional baggage we carry with us. My approach I like to use psychodynamic techniques to help my clients process & make sense of their painful childhood memories and attachment patterns. I find it helpful to utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to assist my clients in identifying the influence their thoughts can have on their feelings and how these feelings can impact their behavior, and then working with them to develop healthier thought patterns. I also incorporate dialectical behavioral therapy techniques with my clients (such as mindfulness and distress tolerance) and encourage them to utilize the practices on a day-to-day basis to manage unpleasant and overwhelming emotions. My focus Many of us struggle with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, and relationship issues. I'm here to help you work through these issues to help to achieve a happier, balanced, and more rewarding life. My communication style Throughout our therapy journey together, it's important for me to speak to my clients with unconditional positive regard, respect, and kindness. Creating a non-judgmental space for my clients is something I value, as I believe it encourages and makes clients feel comfortable speaking openly and honestly about deep issues and topics that they may feel vulnerable, shameful, or embarrassed about. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist after having an incredibly healing experience when I received therapy myself as a teenager. Since then, being in the client's seat has been a significant part of my own journey of self-growth. I truly enjoy giving back to clients and guiding them in their own mental health & emotional growth process.
