Life can be challenging, confusing, and at times, seem endless. However, learning certain skills and tools can help make even the most difficult paths of life workable and even enjoyable. My hope is that I can help equip my clients with what they need to make the best of the journey of life. My approach I utilize an eclectic approach that, amongst other styles, includes person-centered therapy, CBT, and family systems. I'm also trained in providing EMDR. My focus I believe that anyone can truly benefit from individual counseling to work through the "big" problems in one's life or even everyday challenges that impede our ability to reach our potential. I specialize in helping people with anxiety, stress, depression, mood disorders, trauma/PTSD, adjustment disorders, life transitions, anger management, burnout/compassion fatigue in the workplace, grief, technology addiction, loneliness, men's issues, self-esteem problems, and parenting issues. My communication style I do my best to meet people where they are cognitively, emotionally, and spiritually. While I have a foundation of clinical knowledge, my goal is to build genuine, down-to-earth connections, rather than use depersonalized clinical jargon. My journey to mental healthcare I graduated from Harding University in Searcy, AR, with a B.A. in Youth and Family Ministry. It was at Harding University that I discovered my passion for working with at-risk adolescents. I then shifted focus and earned my M.S. in Professional Counseling at Harding. In Arkansas, I gained experience in working with children and adolescents in both community counseling and juvenile corrections environments. In 2015, I returned to my roots in Alabama to work in residential treatment, working with high-risk teens. I have been in private practice since 2018 and have over 10 years of psychotherapy experience.
