Getting to know Brianna Anson

Hi! My name is Bri, and I am a trauma-informed therapist specializing in anxiety, depression, and PTSD/Trauma. My approach is compassionate, holistic, and person-centered, meaning I look at the whole of your experience and tailor treatment to your exact needs. My goal is to help you not only reduce symptoms, but heal the root of the problem and bring you back to yourself in a space that feels safe and understanding. I am a first generation Filipino-American and have extensive experience working with clients who have complex trauma, multicultural challenges, self-esteem challenges, or who have suffered any type of abuse.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and deeply rooted in a belief in the human capacity for growth and self-healing. I draw from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychoanalysis, and Expressive Arts Therapy to support my clients in navigating PTSD, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, attachment wounds, identity exploration, and life transitions. My work is humanistic and experiential—I meet you where you are, with curiosity and respect, and invite the whole of you into the process. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and am currently completing my PhD in Depth Psychology with a specialization in Integrative Therapy and Healing Practices. My clinical training has centered around trauma-informed care, and I am particularly passionate about helping clients access their inner healer so they can mend the past and live in the present. Whether you're looking to process past trauma, deepen your self-understanding, or develop new ways of relating to yourself and others, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, creativity, and grounded support.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Each session goes at your own pace. Depending on your needs as I get to know you, I'll add expressive art activities, talk therapy, IFS, or EMDR. You will always know where we are in therapy, and you'll always be part of the treatment process. I believe that healing happens at the root of the problem. I'm less about symptom management and more about holistic and deep work to eliminate the source of the symptoms. I will come up with general directions I think we should go based on your goals, but you'll always be in the loop and part of the decision making process because session is your space. My greatest goal is to make session a place where you can face your fears, take a breath, and ultimately start to feel better.
