Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Britney! A potential client is someone motivated to learn about themselves and their own internal drive. I want to work with individuals interested in exploring the healing and growing process, as well as the world around them, so we can strive for growth and healing together. My approach is direct because I realize time is precious. I like to get to the root of the problem quickly and begin the change process. I enjoy getting to know the whole person, and there is no subject I shy away from! I use a person-centered approach, focusing on the individual and their unique needs. I typically work with clients interested in behavior modification and trauma healing, including those with diagnoses such as borderline personality disorder and PTSD. I also work with mood and psychotic disorders, such as bipolar disorder. I am fascinated by what the brain can and cannot do, and how we can learn from our past experiences and traumas. I create a relaxed and casual environment, free of pretense and the need to act a certain way. I want the "real" client and the "real" self. I enjoy humor and laughter, but also concern and healing, because I take mental health and growth extremely seriously and give them the attention they deserve. My journey to becoming a therapist has been long but worthwhile. I had a traumatic experience with a therapist as a child, and at that time, I promised myself I would "flip the script" and become the kind of therapist I wished I had—one who displays kindness, understanding, compassion, and all the ideals I envisioned. I earned my Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UT Health San Antonio | University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, which equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support my clients effectively.
