What should a new client know about working with you?

My communication style is open, honest, and transparent. I believe in reflecting with clarity and compassion, creating a space where difficult conversations can happen safely and respectfully. My goal is to support you in reaching your goals—through mutual trust, honesty, and a shared commitment to growth. I began my journey in the field as a social work student, and over time, my passion for supporting others led me to pursue clinical therapy. I've had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, from addiction treatment and DBT group therapy to suicide prevention and providing essential services in one of Minnesota’s most diverse school communities. These experiences have shaped who I am as a therapist. Like many of my clients, I’ve navigated my path to find what feels authentic and sustainable. I understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance, and I’ve built a career where I can do meaningful work—supporting people as they learn to support themselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy, to me, is a shared journey. We’ll start by exploring what matters most to you, whether that’s improving relationships, building confidence, managing anxiety, or navigating life changes. I focus on meeting you where you are, offering a supportive and nonjudgmental space where trust and open communication come first. Together, we’ll create a plan that reflects your unique goals, and as you grow, that plan can grow with you. My role is to walk alongside you, offering insight, skills, and encouragement, so that even when progress feels tough, you’re never facing it alone. Our first session is all about building trust and connection. Finding the right therapist is an important step on your journey. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable and safe, so I’ll prioritize creating a space where you can be yourself. It’s normal to feel nervous at the start, and that’s okay. Therapy is a gradual process, and we’ll take it one step at a time together. I’m here to support and guide you through every part of this experience
