“Brittany provides a safe space for reflection, processing, and discovery. I came to her with concerns I had barely disclosed to anyone in my life before, and I've made significant strides in my healing and growth. She has always made me feel secure and supported in her care. I'm very thankful for Brittany.”

“Brittany has been great for me. She listens and doesn’t judge. She doesn’t push and she helps me get to where I need to be on my own time. She helps me to acknowledge even small goals while still working toward larger ones. She’s just a great ear to have to be able to get out all my feelings. I would recommend her to anyone. ”

Getting to know Brittany Aponte

Taking the step to reach out to a counselor can be hard for so many reasons. I am here to help make the process as safe and comfortable as possible. I have been in the field for almost 10 years. I have worked across settings from inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient therapy. I have a passion for working with individuals that have tried therapy previously but have not found the right fit. I work in unique ways with my clients to help them to see the progress that they are looking for in their lives. Most clients that find success working with me are a part of one of the following groups. Under the age of 30, have experienced trauma, identify as a part of the queer community, identify as neurodivergent or are a part of another minority group. Working with a counselor can be scary but I aim to make the process safe and effective as well as enjoyable along the way. I look forward to learning about and from you throughout our journey together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a laid back atmosphere. We are all people here and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. I will hold you accountable as necessary and expect you do the same. Therapy is not about me telling you how to live your life. Rather, us working together to find ways for you to flourish.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Working with me starts with a thorough intake appointment. The more I can understand about where you have been and where you are, the faster and more effective our work together will be. Following the initial session, you will find yourself in a space that aims to provide safety, growth and healing. My goal is to make working on the hard stuff feel manageable and for you to make the progress that you are looking for.
