Getting to know Brittany Bogdajewicz

We all have unique innate strengths that create our inner awesomeness. However, sometimes we forget or lack the skills to nurture these qualities when we are consumed by the chaos of our day-to-day lives. By recognizing and developing these qualities, we will come to recognize and ?own our awesome.? Together, we will take the first steps on your journey to maximize your full potential. We'll identify and work on areas where you get stuck, increasing your alignment with your values as we develop practices that create life-changing shifts and lasting results. I am a licensed professional counselor. I completed my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University in Chicago. Throughout my career, I've held positions in outpatient therapy and residential treatment programs. I have worked with diverse populations and ages, including adolescents and teens, adults, and individuals with chronic mental health and physical health issues. I use an integrative approach combining strengths-based, person-centered, and psychodynamic techniques. I strongly believe in the importance of the therapeutic alliance and that clients should feel safe and supported. Each session, we will collaborate on your treatment to help you meet your personal needs and goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I enjoy building an authentic and collaborative partnership with my clients with constant respect and open communication. Through collaboration, we develop a deeper understanding of the presenting issues and set a path towards healing. My key areas of clinical experience include anxiety and depression, coping with trauma and abuse, bipolar disorder, crisis intervention, sexual identity, gender identity, life transitions, and concerns related to outside stressors such as work, relationships or school.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

If we decide to move forward, our first session consists of getting a full background of the client with a focus on concrete and tangible goals and objectives to guide our sessions. We will then begin to explore areas of value as we collaborate and move towards goals together.

Brittany is an incredibly empathetic, honest, considerate, supportive, communicative, and helpful therapist. She provides helpful coping skills, helps patients process difficult things or trauma, and so much more. As someone with CPTSD and BPD, I was not benefiting from therapy until I began working with Brittany. She has helped me a tremendous amount and has helped me through some incredibly challenging times. She creates a very welcoming, open, and comfortable environment which I haven’t found in other therapists. I know Brittany doesn’t just look at me as a patient, but also as a person. She’s helped me grow a tremendous amount and unlearn a lot of toxic behaviors as well. Overall, Brittany is an amazing therapist and I highly recommend working with her- she clearly is passionate about her job and does it well.
Brittany has been a fantastic help to me over the last 2 years. Shes helped guide and encourage me through everything that comes my way. Its always easy to talk to her during session which makes it easier to work through difficult things.
Brittney makes it easy to feel like I’m talking to a wise friend. It’s easy to talk about what I need to, she knows how to hold me accountable when I’m losing my way, and gives me the tools to handle my problems on my own. She also always ends with a check in to see if there was anything I was unsatisfied with in my session and I appreciate that.
