Hi, I'm Brittany! I'm so glad you're here. If you're someone who spends so much time taking care of everyone else that you've forgotten what it feels like to take care of yourself, I want you to know that you deserve support, too. Maybe you're the one everyone counts on, but inside you're overwhelmed, overthinking everything, and wondering why you can't seem to catch up. Maybe you say yes when you really want to say no, replay conversations long after they're over, or feel guilty anytime you put yourself first. Or maybe you're starting to wonder if ADHD explains why you've spent so much of your life working twice as hard just to keep up. If any of that sounds familiar, you're not alone, and you don't have to keep pushing through it by yourself. As a therapist at Ideal Psychology Group, I love helping adults navigate anxiety, ADHD (including late-identified ADHD), burnout, self-esteem, trauma, and relationship challenges. My passion is helping people understand themselves with more compassion, let go of impossible expectations, and start building a life that actually feels good to them. You don't have to be the strong one here. You get to be human, messy feelings and all. I'd love to help you find your way back to yourself!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first few sessions are all about getting to know you and helping you feel comfortable. We'll talk about what's been weighing on you, what you've been carrying for a long time, and what you'd love to feel different. There's no pressure to share everything at once, and we'll go at a pace that feels right for you. As we work together, we might explore why it's so hard to say no without feeling guilty, why your brain won't turn off at night, or why everyday tasks can feel so overwhelming when you're dealing with ADHD. We might practice setting boundaries, build confidence, work through difficult experiences, or come up with realistic ways to make your days feel a little less exhausting. And I promise, we're not going to create some impossible routine that only works for a person who has unlimited energy and a perfectly organized life! We'll focus on small, meaningful changes that fit the life you're actually living. Since therapy is fully virtual, you can join from a private, comfortable space anywhere in Michigan. Bring your coffee, your comfy clothes, and your whole, imperfect self. You're welcome here!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First, you can take the pressure off. You don't have to know exactly what to say, have a diagnosis, or show up with a perfectly organized list of everything you want to work on. And if you spend half the session saying, "I don't even know why I'm so overwhelmed," that's okay, too! My approach is warm, genuine, and completely judgment-free. I want therapy to feel like talking with someone who really listens, understands that life is complicated, and isn't going to hand you another list of things you "should" be doing. I use a person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming approach. We'll work together to understand what's behind the anxiety, people-pleasing, self-doubt, or ADHD struggles, and find strategies that actually make sense for your brain and your life. I'm a big believer that healing can include laughter, honest conversations, and celebrating the little wins. You don't have to earn rest, prove you're struggling enough, or pretend you have it all together with me.
