Brittany Cestone, MSW, LCSW

Psychotherapist
MD
Humans are wired for connection, and I believe a strong therapeutic relationship begins with trust, respect, and understanding. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, develop new perspectives, build self-compassion, and discover a greater sense of purpose. Together, we will work to overcome barriers, strengthen coping skills, and build confidence so you can move towards the goals that matter most to you. Most importantly, you get to define what meaningful change looks like for you. I am passionate about helping individuals understand and overcome negative beliefs they may hold about themselves, others, or the world—particularly following trauma or other difficult life experiences. My training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) allows me to draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to help individuals identify what may be keeping them feeling stuck and develop new ways of understanding themselves and their experiences. I also incorporate strengths-based and mindfulness approaches to support self-regulation, build on existing skills and abilities, and foster greater self-trust.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In addition to trauma and PTSD, I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, mood disorders, low self-esteem, addictions, and ADHD, as well as parenting and relationship concerns. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults across all stages of life and tailor treatment to each person's unique needs, strengths, and goals. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed to practice in New York, Maryland, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Florida. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and have experience working in residential programs, substance use treatment centers, schools, and outpatient mental health clinics. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for the treatment of PTSD, as well as Integrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TEAM-CBT).

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is centered on building a genuine therapeutic partnership in which we work together to better understand your experiences, develop practical skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. I would be honored to support you in your journey toward personal growth, greater self-awareness, and a more fulfilling life.
