In learning about what therapists do, she knew this was the right move for her! While therapists aren’t advice givers, she absolutely loves being a sound board for individuals and helping them live their best lives; lives they often times never thought they could live. She is very passionate about helping people achieve the possible. She has worked with incarcerated individuals for the past three years. She absolutely loves this population; however, therapists often only make contact with individuals for several minutes at a time, and therapy is not provided. She was not doing what she set out to do, which is helping individuals live their best lives. She has worked with individuals with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, phobias, and other mood disorders. She has worked with children from ages six to adults and seniors. She has worked with individuals in group settings, within the family system, and individually. Her experience with these populations has impacted every aspect of her professional and personal self. She interacts with every individual she meets with a genuine sense of empathy, as she has heard and seen things in her career which are impossible to forget. She works to truly hear every individuals story and understand how their experiences have informed their current self.
