Brittany Dursi, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
With nearly a decade of experience and seven years in private practice, I always aim to create a compassionate, knowledgeable, and calm presence for each person I work with. I understand that life's challenges can be heavy, and my goal is to help clients feel supported as they work through them. I specialize in trauma recovery and use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to gently guide clients through healing, allowing them to move forward with greater peace and resilience. I'm also pursuing BCIA certification in Neurofeedback to provide deeper insights into the mind-body connection, especially for those navigating trauma, ADHD, or other mental health challenges. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Stony Brook University, which has provided a strong foundation for my clinical skills and understanding of diverse client needs. My career has taken me through diverse settings-schools, hospitals, psychiatric units, substance use clinics, and domestic violence organizations-and each experience has shaped my approach. These environments have deepened my understanding of the complexities people face in their relationships, their sense of self, and their emotional health. These experiences have led me to focus on supporting individuals with relationship and intimacy concerns, those navigating the perinatal, prenatal, and postpartum stages, and those managing ADHD. In our work together, I'm here to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered, creating a safe space where we can explore and grow.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When we work together, you’ll find a safe, non-judgmental space where you can truly be yourself. I bring a warm, compassionate approach, along with deep experience in trauma, EMDR, relationships, and ADHD. Whether you’re tackling personal challenges, navigating relationship struggles, or facing big life changes, we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I believe that real healing happens in a space of connection, empathy—and yes, even a bit of laughter along the way. My goal is to help you feel understood and supported as we work toward growth and healing together. You don’t have to go through this alone, and I’m here to help you uncover strengths you may not even realize you have, building a path that feels hopeful, meaningful, and truly yours.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions, you can expect a partnership built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to your growth. This is your space to explore, reflect, and feel truly heard. Together, we’ll dig deep—I'll ask questions that challenge you to see things from fresh perspectives and open doors to parts of yourself you may not have accessed before. I believe in creating an interactive, engaging experience, where each session is meaningful and meets you where you are. You’ll feel empowered to take up space and express your thoughts and feelings without judgment, knowing you have a safe place to explore whatever comes up. You’ll be met with compassion and encouragement, but also challenged to step outside your comfort zone and uncover new insights. I’ll be there with you, guiding and supporting you as you work through obstacles and build a path forward. Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel stronger, more self-aware, and ready to embrace the changes you want, knowing we’re navigating this journey together.
